What is CrypVault?
CrypVault is a type of ransomware which is able to take control of the infected computer system and encrypts most personal files. It can infect this type of file extension including xls, .doc, .pdf, .rtf, .psd, .dwg, .cdr, .cd, .mdb, .1cd, .dbf, .sqlite, .jpg, and .zip. It is created by hackers to cheat computer users’ money. And you should notice that it can affect all kind of operating systems such as Windows 7/8, vista and so on. Thus, it is so dangerous and tricky and you should never treat CrypVault lightly.
What will CrypVault do once infected?
Once infected, CrypVault will scan your whole hard drive and encrypt all of your files in your computer. Then, it will send you a alert massage stating that your personal files are encrypted. If you want to decrypt your files, you must pay some money. In fact, it is a fraud. Even you pay for it, you also cannot decrypt your files. It just want to cheat your money. In addition, CrypVault also can damage your system greatly without your consent. It can mess up your system, registry, and change your system files. Moreover, it is able to collect your personal confidential information such as credit card number and password, as well as your other financial information. Thus, you should remove CrypVault immediately once detected.
How can CrypVault get into the your computer?
CrypVault usually gets into your computer when you open the strange email attachments which is created by hackers. These email attachments will contain this viruses or other malware. Besides, it often enters into your computer by the vulnerabilities of your computer system. On the other hands,
it also can sneak into your PC when you download other freeware from Internet or click some malicious links and pop-ups.
How to remove CrypVault from your computer?
Method one : Remove CrypVault manually.
Step 1: Boot up the infected computer, press F8 at the very beginning, choose “Safe Mode with Networking” and press Enter to get in safe mode with networking.
Step 2: End all the processes related to CrypVault from the task manger
press Windows+R together to launch up Run window>input taskmgr>click OK
search for the related processes or suspicious ones> right click and choose End Process
Step 3: Show hidden files and folders.
(1) Click on Start button and then on Control Panel.
(2) Click on Appearance and Personalization
(3) Click on Folder Options
(4) Click on the View tab in the Folder Options window
(5) Choose Show hidden files, folders, and drives under the Hidden files and folders category
(6) Click OK at the bottom of the Folder Options window.
Step 4: Go to the Registry Editor, get rid of all CrypVault registry entries listed as below:
Guide: open Registry Editor by pressing Window+R keys together, typing into regedit and clicking the OK button. (another way is clicking on the Start button and choosing Run option, then typing into Regedit and pressing Enter.
