3.Modify host file
For Windows Vista and Windows 7
1) Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories
2) Right click Notepad and select Run as administrator
3) Click Continue on the "Windows needs your permission" UAC window.
4) When Notepad opens Click File -> Open
5) In the filename field type C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
6) Click Open

Windows NT/2000/XP
1) Click Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Notepad
2) Click File -> Open
3) In the filename field type C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\etc\hosts
4) Click Open

4. Go to the Registry Editor to delete all entries related to pup.optional.tarma.a.

  • HKCU\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Ext\Stats\{99079A25-328F-4BD4-BE04-00955ACAA0A7} (PUP.Optional.SearchQu)

5. Reset your IE
a) Open Internet Explorer. Click on the Tools menu and then select Internet Options.
b) In the Internet Options window click on the Advanced tab. Then click on the Restore Defaults button and then press OK.
